LIFELONG LEARNING PROVERBS AND POPULAR SAYINGS

1 – “More living, more learning” // “Learning to death”

Here is a saying with which I fully agree and that reflects the way of thinking and living. Most people of our time, whatever their age or condition.

2- “Old animal does not learn languages”

In this, I am frontally against.

We know from experience that, when we want, we are able to learn, even with more or less easiness.

We do not need to go outside the walls of our university to witness the richness and diversity of successes from learning obtained by students / as in Poetry, Painting, Drawing, Music, Dance, Theatre and especially, … Languages.

So, ladies and gentlemen, “The work and experience, learn the Human Science”.

3 – “Actions speak louder than words”

4-“After a storm comes a calm”

5- “At night all cats are grey”

6- “Barking dogs seldom bite”

7- “Do not count your chickens before they are hatched”

8- “Don’t look a gift horse in the mouth

9- “The road to hell is paved with good intentions”

10- “The walls have ears”

11- “Union is strength”

12- “Where one door shuts another opens”

13- “Where there is smoke there is fire”

14- “Where there’s a will, there’s a way”

15- “While there is life, there is hope”

16- “You are never too old to learn”

17- “You can go to Rome by many roads”

18- “You can’t make an omelette without breakings eggs”
